Overview
The Amazon is considered the largest forest in the world. It is home to numerous animal and plant species. It contains 40% of the remaining tropical rainforest on the planet, 25% of terrestrial biodiversity, and the largest number of fish species found in any river system. It borders Brazil, Ecuador, and Peru.
Itinerary
Reception at Vásquez Cobo Airport in Leticia.
Transfer to Waira Hotel in Leticia.
Room assignment depending on hotel occupancy.
Time to change clothes.
Walk to the Leticia port on the Amazon River.
First encounter with the great Amazon River, visit to the imaginary point of the three borders (Colombia-Brazil-Peru).
Welcome lunch on a floating raft by the riverbank. (Depending on the flight's arrival time in Leticia, if it arrives after 2 p.m., this lunch will be offered on the last day at the hotel).
Return to Leticia for a city tour, visiting artisan shops, the Ethnographic Museum of the Banco de la República, ending in the late afternoon at Santander Park to witness the concert of thousands of parakeets returning to their nests (No service is provided on Sundays and public holidays).
Free time to enjoy the hotel pool, dinner at Waira Hotel.

Walk to the port (4 blocks).
Boat ride on the Amazon River to Marasha Nature Reserve – Peru (approx. 1 hour).
Entry to the reserve (July to January: 2-hour walk; February to June: 1-hour canoe ride).

Lunch, walking tour of the municipality of Puerto Nariño.
Boat tour on the Amazon River in the most common areas for responsible observation of pink dolphins. (We do not guarantee dolphin sightings as they are in their natural habitat). Return by boat to the city of Leticia (Approx. 1.5 hours).
Return to Leticia, dinner, and accommodation at the hotel.

The Amazon region is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain. Light, breathable clothing, a rain jacket, and waterproof shoes are essential.
Vaccinations for yellow fever are recommended. Bring insect repellent to protect against mosquitoes, which can carry diseases like malaria and dengue. Carry a basic first-aid kit.
Respect the local indigenous cultures. It’s a good idea to learn a few phrases in Spanish or the local indigenous languages as a sign of respect
The Amazon is home to diverse wildlife. When exploring, always go with a guide to ensure safety and respect for the environment.
Ensure your passport is up-to-date. If you plan to cross into Brazil or Peru (which is easy to do from Leticia), check visa requirements.
